Playing golf
Expats and tourists have discovered the Cha-Am/Hua Hin region as a prime golfing region of Thailand. Even if you have played in other regions of Thailand, you will be impressed. More than ten world classes golf courses are accessible.
Booking and cost
Booking beforehand is always advisable. There are full packages (including accommodation and transfers to and from Bangkok) available if you are travelling to Thailand and looking for a golfing holiday as well as local guides providing advice, bookings and transport.
The cost of green fees varies seasonally and from course to course. The fees range from 1,000 to 3,000 Baht. Motorised buggies (sometimes compulsory) add 500-600 baht to this cost and caddies tips are also extra.
Facilities
Facilities at the pro shop and on course offer everything you will need to enjoy your day at the course. Most courses offer resort style accommodation although transport is typically less than half an hour away from Cha-Am by taxi or mini bus.
Courses have a number of different coloured tee boxes changing the length of the course. You can decide on the degree of difficulty before commencing the round so that play can be enjoyed by players of differing abilities.
Caddies are always provided. Your relationship with the caddie is an important part of the Thailand golfing experience.
