Camel Republic

Things to do in Cha-Am

Opened in July 2014, Camel Republic is the lastest addition to Cha-am parks. To sum it up, it’s a small zoo with some extreme attractions and a few games for smaller kids. It features animals like camels, alpacas, parrots and other birds, ostriches, goats… You can very close to the animals and feed them (20 to 40 baht each time), but camels can’t be ridden, which was a bit of a disappointment for the kids. The whole place has an Arabic palace atmosphere. It’s a nice place to take your Thai family or friends, as they will love the photos opportunities.

Location and admission

Camel Republic is on the left hand side of Phetkasem when coming from Bangkok, half way between Santorini Park and the Swiss Sheep Farm. Opened Monday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm, Friday to Sunday and holidays from 9am to 7pm. Admission fee is 200 bahts for non residents (foreign tourists), 120 baht for resident adults (Thai people and foreign expats who can show a driving licence or a work permit), 90 bahts for children (90 to 130 cm height) and seniors (more than 55 yo) and free for small children (less than 90 cm height).
